3 years later with CHM – Full Review (Christian Healthcare Ministries)

It’s been almost 3 years since sharing my experience with CHM to cover maternity costs, so it’s time for an update. Christian Healthcare Ministries has saved us thousands of dollars in medical costs and insurance. It’s a great alternative for many families. hey girl, I was wanting to sign up but had a few questions! Would I be able to message you to ask your opinions on a few things?

Thank you for sharing this information with us. Isn’t it hard to find care providers to take self pay patients? I think many of them do not even take an appointment without insurance.

Thank you for the information. This video is very helpful.

I don’t understand why all Churches don’t know or don’t advertise ministries like CHM, even help members in need paying for it. That would be such a powerful statement of love for the world to see.

Hello! So if something big happened and some medical cost was about $100K, most people don’t have that laying around. We would still have to pay that before CHM sent us money?

What happens if a provider decides to balance bill you? How does CHM deal with that situation?

    Great vid

So do I understand right that you have to pay first, and then you get payed back by CHM? CHM doesnt just handle the bill?

It is my understanding that the Gold plan actually pays 100% IF the amount exceeds $500. In other words, you don’t have to pay the first $500.

I’ve been considering them for a while and even more now that I just left my job. Thanks!!

My wife is a CHM member and just finished 3 procedures on her eyes: Two cataract and one retina surgery. total cost was over $16K. CHM just sent her a check for $500 less. She’s also Gold level, and "Brothers’ Keeper" level, about $190/mo. total. $500 deductible. I have no idea why anyone would pay $600 or more per month, and have to suffer with a $6k annual deductible?

    Thanks for sharing your experience!
We use a direct primary care office for our family doctor, those on a health sharing program can benefit from this style of practice. We pay a monthly membership fee and when we visit a $20 scheduling fee. They cover many things under that fee, if there’s tests or other things needed that aren’t covered under that, we only pay their cost.

Trump took away that penalty for not having insurance.

They won’t pay for babies born from unwed mothers, do they?

What are the dental and eye benefits?

Single moms pregnancy is covered? Interesting as that wouldn’t be considered “biblical” would it?

How are they on prescription meds? Thanks for the video.

Thank you for this! I think my family will sign up and we will use your code. Do silver or bronze plan cover urgent care or emergency room visits?

Thank you for doing this review! My husband and I recently joined CHM this summer. Your previous videos convinced us to go ahead and try it out.

Can I join as a Christian Scientist? I don’t really want it (for obv belief reasons) but my mother who does not share my beliefs constantly worries.

  22. Ann Loui on February 8, 2022 at 10:46 pm

So did you have to pay 20k up front?

  23. Young Lee on February 8, 2022 at 10:49 pm

Thanks for the video. How does brother’s keeper work? Do you pay additional amount for that to cover bills over $125k?

  24. Kim Whalen on February 8, 2022 at 10:51 pm

Thank you so much for sharing. So, so helpful. I just signed up my husband and I and used your code. I hope you get an extra month free. =)

Thanks for sharing! Helped my wife and I make a decision and we used your link! God bless you and your family!

How nitpicky are they about preexisting conditions? Does the injury have to be bothering you at the time you apply etc? I have a back injury from several years ago and at some point I will need treatment again.

  27. Brian Mueller on February 8, 2022 at 10:56 pm

Can you only sign up during "open enrollment" or any time during the year?

  28. SmokinJoe on February 8, 2022 at 10:56 pm

One BIG mistake in the video regarding the GOLD plan.
If the incident costs UNDER $500 you pay it.
If the incident cost $500 or more, CHM pays it ALL.
Note, follow up bills for the SAME incident ‘stack up’ and often will bring you over the threshold reimbursing you 100%

So if we join in this plan, for tax purposes, are we considered as ‘covered with health insurance’:
because I am new to usa and came to know that there is a penalty if u don’t have health insurance!!
The other private insurance plans are very expensive.
Also is it covering prescription for tablets, like tablets for bp and diabetes.

This can work for people, but it’s impossible to know if it really will for any individual, unless God really guides you and lets you know this will be fine for you and your family. My dad was always super healthy, no health problems, in 2020 he got really sick and ended up with over a million dollars in medical bills. Thank goodness he had insurance with no dollar limits.

  31. waste land warrior on February 8, 2022 at 11:00 pm

Did you have to pay the bills yourself, submit the bills and then get reimbursed? The chs guy I talked to said I have to pay the bill first or it will not be covered. Is he wrong?
