Honestly I feel like my only skill and gifting that people benefit from and appreciate a lot are my words. My ability to speak in a way that is almost poetic sometimes and those things. That’s all I got . There is a level of creativity and symbolism I enjoy thinking on . That’s why I love reading Old Testament bf speaking about interpretations of the bible. So that sucks because what can I do with that. I’d probably be happy being a counselor for people or creating something or something. Idk though. I’m a biomed Engineering major and I’m tired of school and academia and i am not great at this stuff at all.
Soft skills are transferable. At least customer service training. I love this channel. I am glad I found you.
Hey Brother Mark,
first off i want to say I love your channel and the subjects you bring to the table to bless others that most churches just don’t address. I’ll be honest i was very skeptical at first with all the YouTube ministers floating around but after listening to you i can say you bless me and others. Thank you so much for your time and energy.
Now, on to what i wanted to share with you. I like this video, i think it is going in the right direction as far as.. Defining the three aspects of job, career and calling. However, i think it would be better to simply say that a career is what you do based on the skills you have to fund your life style so you can fullfil your purpose. Jobs and Careers are.. Very similar in that their primary focus is to fund your life. But i think it would be simpler especially for younger people to understand that a career is just an advanced job meaning it is the thing to do to fund your entire life not just something you plan on doing for the next 3 years in the summer. Another thing is just because something pulls you out of your comfort zone does not mean you should not choose that as a career. If you are uncomfortable doing it, but you have skills in it and are good at it and it can provide the income for your lifestyle you should do it. More than likely if you are getting pulled out of your comfort zone but you are good at it that just means God is trying to grow you and you need to stop resisting so He can use that to help you support your calling. I really like how you talked about hard skills as a first thing to get because most are not taught this. Thanks again
Job>>>career>>>>calling. Add value >>> internal satisfaction >>> $$$>>> add more value >>>> feeling very happy when they succeed >>> $$$$$$……
give so u can receive. For example u chose to be real state agent so u gonna help them how to buy a house from scratch, teaching them how to save for down payment(finance) , teaching them about investment in that house. you do this because u want them to be happy and satisfied. After this u just gonna paid what value u added.

Thank you!
I’ll be one of the best soccer player 8n the world in Jesus name
Your first tip is spot on!!! Really, go back and listen again.
I was trying to make my careet my calling – basically my everything. My identity was my career, all my time and energy was spent on it.
Now I try to change. A decent job that is inline with what I enjoy somehow will be my career. My life is beeing a happy dad and giving further what I can.
1.) Define what a career actually is?
-job: I do to make money
-calling: having a spiritual gift to benefit to other ppl 1.)where does my skill &
Collide at?
-career: a field I am
2.)if I ask
2.)choose my life goals 1st
Career: is a field of study.
This really reinforces my decision to switch my major to nursing. It feels like a solid choice both practically, for my life situation, and biblically.
Great message. All high school students need to hear this.
A strong relationship to discern the will of the Spirit. The Word is full of God calling many to a life, or purpose, not of their choosing. Is the Lord in it? This is more important than anything else.
How would define your life goals? Can you make a video about it?
I used tolove travelling and be on planes and trains often. With a baby this whole lifestyle is different. So hard to say it in advance….
Hi pastor, thank you for your advice! I feel that they have helped me some what in deciding my job change.
Still I’m lost in moving forward of what career to pursue. I resigned last year from my corporate job and I want to land in online freelancing but it seems I have a calling in church ministry and I’m afraid cause I’m broke financially now. Just want to prioritize first a career that would help me free from it. Thank you so much for your tips. God bless!
So can a calling never be a career? Is it so rare?
God Bless you bro.. appreciate the advice.
This video was great and very helpful
Thank you! I need this so much at this moment. God bless!
I love this
Also got my degree in education and am studying in seminary to become a pastor. Glad to see you have this success in multiple areas, partly because it lets me know God still has multiple options for me if thing don’t work out or last, as well.
If I’m being bluntly honest, I’m 30 years old and I’m still struggling with what it is that I want to do. I’v never been able to hold down a job either because I’ve gotten fired because of my attitude because I don’t put with no mess or I would just quit because the job would because so mentally and emotionally overwhelming and I’m the type of person I who feels that taking care of my mental health is more important than working a super hard job for someone who doesn’t value my emotional well being.
Careers are meant to make money and advance , I’m trying to find my career now , I keep confusing my calling with career . Trying to find a career that’s somewhat enjoyable . My goal is to be economical stable , and build a foundation for myself
My dream is too sing
Omg a much needed video. I kept praying to God about what my career/ job should be and it was like he wasn’t saying anything until I saw this video. This really helped me
“You can only be steered/ guided if you’re moving”
if you’re still in middle school or high school & you don’t know what career you’d like to see yourself studying, keep learning about yourself, Your likes, your dislikes, what you’re passionate about. Keep developing your gifts and skills so you may use them for God’s glory. Don’t be lazy and don’t put learning what you want to learn for later. Love & be thankful, don’t give up so easily, You got this! and when you mess up, learn from mistakes, remember to forgive yourself and keep going. You are loved.
i wish i could go back and say this to my younger self as i spent too much time wasting it and in the negative
Great video with quality info and examples. I needed this guidance. TY!
God bless you Brother
Thank you. Please do more about job/career, as you did for marriage advising.
Didnt even get a full minute in and i already know exactly what i needed and what god wanted me to here
Just remember this a lot of times your job and Calling are the same
Is marketing good for a child of God ?
Example:
per example I own YouTube as my company ;is that a sin ???
God bless you! You just broke a religious spirit bondage I had with jobs! Amen brotha!!
Thanks so much! Great video
But you’re suppose to trust god
How do I find my calling? I’m still confused. But I have few talents given by God:
1.Very strong intuition and sometimes through dreams is given to me to see how to help to someone or that someone needs a prayer.
2. Talent for powerful writing.
3. Helping lower society groups or people with lower titles when they rights aren’t respected or they are not heard from the authorities. Even if I’m 24 authorities listen to my voice and I have the power to influence them. Ex: one of the directors was using his power for personal gains and students were suffering in the college for years. Was able to change that in two days for the students of the whole university ! Thanks to God now we all have the necessary things we need.
But I still don’t understand how to choose my career somehow a regular job doesn’t full fill me and Im confused in making choices.
Does anyone have any advice for me ? Please let me know. Will be appreciated. Sometimes I just feel like I don’t belong on this earth..
I honestly don’t really know what my calling is but I’ve always had a lot of talent in sports,I’m not exactly a smart person at all so sports is usually the only place I’ve shined and I’ve always wanted to be a great athlete
Really needed this. I had no idea the difference between a job/career and a calling which now makes a lot of sense in my life as I felt in heart my whole life that I need to be an actress or rather that I am an actress but I chose graphic design as my career to financially support myself and I like it. I love graphic season but im IN LOVE with acting and I was hurt and confused on why I can’t just act since I seen that my acting has touch people’s lives and impacted them in a great way and even spiritually at times, but everything was stopping me from chosing it as a career path and going to college for it. Now I understand. Thank you.
Victory belongs to jesus
As an 18 year old who just recently decided to stop pursuing a "dream" career of acting (probably for fairly obvious reasons), thanks for sharing this Biblical perspective.
P.S. you kind of look like Jake Gylenhaal.
I wish I should have listened to this before choosing my major. I’m close to finishing it and it just makes me cry thinking about working doing that… but also if I don’t work doing that is like wasting my study time
This is very timely, thank you for your advice. 🙂
I don’t know what I enjoy .
Great video…!
When I was a kid, I prayed to choose my career. I thought I would be a teacher someday, ‘cuz I always had this calling to teach. But then I found out I could be an airplane pilot. So I started studying and investing money to become a pilot someday. Now… I have all this amazing experience as a pilot, but I’ve got no job. I’ve invested like a lot of money to become a pilot thinking that was God’s purpose (everything worked so fine and God knows I would never be able to do this by myself), but now… I don’t know if God chooses our career or if he cares about it. Because all he wants is us to pray and announce his kingdom. What do you think? Is our career that important?
