The "ei" combination is usually pronounced "eye" in German, not "eee", right? So wouldn’t her last name be pronounced "Neye-sa" rather than "Nee-sa"? (Plus the male commentator didn’t sound like he knew much of anything about skeleton.)

This is by far the craziest sport I’ve ever seen
I noticed that they’re forced to sacrifice time by dragging their toes so that they don’t crash coming out of Turn 13. Really is kinda telling about the design of that particular turn if skeleton is forced to drag toes or stick a leg out to stabilize but luge and bobsled end up crashing.

where does the skill come in, them steering it? seems scary for sure but it also seems like the easiest of all olympic sports just an observation it’s just suprising to me this is in the olympics and not some niche side sport
How fast are they going?
This sport looks like it was invented by teenage boys who got bored with sleds and wanted to see what it would be like to break your neck going really fast down some ice.
Medals are lost by hundreds of a second, I would eat cabbage and chili a few hours before the race, anything to make up that small amount of time.

I also get a kick out of this because the announcers talk about the run and corners the same way you would in motorsport.
It’s the same thing, high risk and high reward favoring smoothness and timing.
