HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The acting was outstanding, the casting was GREAT, every single thing about this film was AMAZING. After watching, I went straight to searching up stuff. A real story becomes a real extraordinary film, in my opinion, especially this film. The actors/actress, the director, producers, the crew, nailed this film, including, the CGI.
This is one of those movies that ( Listen Up And Take This Advice To All The Teachers Out There) (History ones And The Others)(And tell the principal of the school that NO its going to be shown) All students should be given a day in class were you teachers show them this film to them… This should be class 101…

I don’t agree with war it’s not what we’re taught in High School and College. Somehow the educational system has sub concisely embedded that into your minds. I used to run a lot in track I was third I believe that kind of programmed my mind to always be fast at things and it did affect me tremendously and then i was working out afterwards to never be able to focus on what I really wanted to do. I see these movies that have these Sargeants yelling it seems like they know what they’re doing in reality they don’t, I despised my school gym teacher because I knew he was using physcology….so he could get paid it was all a joke for him tbh and the crazy thing about this is that that is one of the main reasons young ppl join the army in the USA to get paid, bt I have met some ppl used to be "in the army" in their countries at 56yo their not right in the mind at all….then we see the news alot of vets "lose it" and commit crazy violent crimes, kill themselves, list goes on. I was thinking about this last night that why is it that we believe the presidents have been "good ppl" it would seem as an excuse to have a question like that to become a criminal, then who would want to become a criminal and not have a good job life etc……makes ZERO sense

We used to have movies like this. True realistic heroism, patriotism. Now what do we get? A captain America(Anthony mackie) who is ashamed to have America in his title, claiming America is something to be shameful of, not proud of.

By the end of this film i was so tore up that when it showed the REAL footage of Doss talking about him asking the lord for just one more; i broke down. I have never sobbed that hard from a movie in all my life
