DO NOT go on a MISSION TRIP until you've watched this 🙏🏽🙅🏾♂️🛫
Have you ever had assumptions, or preconceived ideas about something. And then everything got turned on its head?
That’s what happened on my mission trip to Kenya (Nanyuki). What I thought missions were vs what actually happened was mind-boggling. And who I thought “we” were vs who I learned “they” were was an epiphany I will hold in my heart forever.
The people of the Segera are simply refreshing. Humble, cordial, respectful, hard-working, peaceful, smart, dedicated, honest, eager to please, .. they are just beautiful. Their quiet, uncluttered lives are to be cherished.
Watch this video to see what I learned and ask yourself if YOU are falling prey to clutter and distractions disguised as blessings and riches.
Great tips. Thank you!
It’s to our shame that despite the abundance we have that we’ve squandered most of our blessings. We have to bless and empower the persecuted, impoverished church
This has to be one of the most tone-deaf, appalling mission videos I’ve ever seen. The arrogance and saviorism dripping from your lips is stunning. You went to a village in Kenya where people live a simple life. It’s not representative of the entire continent. Where was your outreach to Nairobi, a bustling, commercial city where people don’t live in huts?
Africans are some of the most spiritual, kind hearted and accepting people on earth. Indeed, the Bible is African history. You aren’t introducing anything new. What you and so many others from materially rich countries are doing is akin to Kenyans flying to the US, going to Appalachia and trying to convince people that the whole of white America is poor and lost and in need help. Is it true? Of course not. Historically, missionary work and colonization worked in lock step. Europe, thus the US, has gotten rich by stepping on the necks of African countries. They don’t need more sermons. They are brilliant people who need capital investment and infrastructure. The US slave trade could not have thrived without Western Christianity, which isn’t Christianity at all. It’s simply white culture masquerading as religion. Instead of going to Africa, maybe you can address systemic racism and inequality right here in the U-S.
Where in Africa?
We’re the people in Kenya nice
Thank you for your insight!! I LOVE that approach to missions. That is a philosophy that I personally subscribe to “teach a man to fish”… I’ll share this with my missions leader!
This was amazing! This is my first time viewing your videos but I really enjoyed this. I am planning a local missions trip and this was really helpful. I have also been feeling called to get rid of a lot of clutter in my house because I feel like it’s just a distraction as well.
Wow thank you for sharing this! I would love to go on a mission, but I don’t want them to think I am better or priviledged like you said, if I go, I am going for myself and learn from them. We are all part of the same Christian family.
I have been asked to come to Zambia to minister, and Kenya! that is why I’m watching your trip to Africa.
Bills, hobbys!, Games, McDonald’s wasting gas……no bike racks….carcentric society…..
Love the backdrop!

Thank you for sharing your revelation experience as a missionary. It is very important to remember the sense of humbleness needed in serving those needing assistance. I particularly appreciate the fact sharing on teaching to be self sufficient and not reliant.
Thank you.
Usa=feminism Karen’s……leave n never come back..
Inspiring! Thank you for sharing about this mission! Sounds amazing! Like they are doing it the right way!!
I’ve felt like God has been urging me to go on a mission trip for a long time. I always thought my purpose there would be to help them understand God and to help them with their works, like cattle or water or whatever. After watching this, I now want to go over there so they can teach me about God! Over the next few years I plan to develop my skills, like carpentry, running cattle, and my laboratory work; how I might apply all this to help them. Thank you, sir, I was getting really disheartened with the other videos on mission trips. You are a blessing!
Agreed! They are the blessed ones.
I feel like selling it all and moving to Africa or another country so that I may experience Christ in fullness. We miss his blessings because we have our" god " in wealth we wonder why our children struggle at times.
"It is easier for a camel to enter eye of the needle than a wealthy man to enter kingdom of heaven"
Definitely influencing!
Wow…incredible! Thanks for sharing!
These times call for Saints like you. Many are called but few are chosen. Matthew 22:14. We have armor from God. We need it! Especially the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:10-18. There is a Crown in Heaven awaiting all who faithfully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a soul is saved. ( "JESUS SAVES" below) 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20; Philippians 4:1. The Apostle Paul testified; Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek".
These Kenyans must have been quite an eye opener.
This praise resounds across the earth: "Jesus is Lord and only He saves".
2 Samuel 22:50. "Therefore I will praise you, O Lord, out of the countries, and I will praise your name."
JESUS SAVES
God the Son (Jesus Christ) has given us the gospel to share with the world.
Mark 16:15: "And He said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
How can anyone hear the "good" news? Romans 10:17 "Then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (We receive the "word" in many ways. The "Word" is Jesus Christ!); John 1:1-5 The Spirit teaches through the Word.
Isaiah 7:14: "Therefore the LORD shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel." Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, "God with us" in human flesh but without sin. The Savior of the world was born to die for our sins! He did so 33 years later. His terrible ordeal; body mutilated; blood poured out, finally died (John 19:30; Luke 23:46 ) and was placed in a tomb and rose from the dead the 3rd day! "HE IS RISEN" Matthew 28:6.
Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."–IT IS FOUNDED UPON GOD’S LOVE FOR MAN AND WOMAN HE CREATED.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
All we are born in sin! And we will sin. It is in our nature.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me." John 14:6
BELIEVE
1 Corinthians 15:3 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures."
"I am the way, the truth and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by me." (John 14.6)
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;" Ephesians 1: 7
"For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." Matthew 26:28
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast."
Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Because of Jesus’s death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting in His death and in the shedding of His blood as payment for our sins, as well as in His burial and resurrection from the dead the third day, and we will be saved! John 20:24-31; See also 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 above.
Romans 10:
9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.
10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
13 For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We receive the baptism of God the Holy Spirit immediately which seals us in Christ and that is permanent! Ephesians 1:13-14. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John 3:16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death". Revelation 21: 8
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1
Amazing!! And That’s called a paradigm shift
I really needed to hear this
I am so blessed and encourage watching your videos. Each video you upload is such a blessing to me. Would love to have you in India. Pray for India. God bless America.
