So if the law is the old Covenant how are we supposed to walk by the spirit I am curious I have to ask what does the Lord mean by that

The flesh has no power over those who have truly been Born Again. The struggle is when people try to conquer their sin by their own power, because they have not received the Holy Spirit:
Collosians 2:11
"and in Him (Jesus) you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ,"
Romans 8:9-11
"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you."
1 John 3
"Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. When Paul spoke about his struggles with sin, he was speaking about his past before he received the Holy Spirit, because he also said:
1 Corinthians 15:34 :
"Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame."
Jesus told the Pharisees,
"You will die in your sins."
For anyone who dies in their flesh, they are guaranteed to end up in Hell.
God’s grace does not allow us to go on sinning. God’s grace changes us.
To deny the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver us from sin so that we can live a righteous life is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

@3:00 What if you’ve forgiven people, but you no longer want to be around them because you know their trespasses against you will resurface, because they always do. Yet, they keep trying to get back into your life saying, "You need to forgive and forget". What would you brothers and sister in Christ do?
