You ignored Matthew 24:34, Mark 13:30, Luke 21:32 and Revelation, which John wrote before the Gospel of John, describing the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
The "abomination" is something much worse. You see in Revelation 13 we see the beast die and come back to life. How does this beast come back to life? Doesn’t say God does it. I THINK that the "abomination of desolation" is referring to Temple of Jupiter erected by Emperor Hadrian on the site of Holy of the Holies in the Temple in AD (132-135) and he put down the revolt with GREAT BRUTALITY!

The abomination of desolation is a man. A globally popular man at that. He runs a "religious" organization out of Vatican City. This individual is the pope. The scrips tell us when the 3rd temple is built, and animal sacrifice is being conducted regularly, he will go into the temple to put an end to it and profess himself as God. Revelation does not say the temple has to be rebuilt; the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, so the abomination of desolation must be sins against the body Christ (which is the third temple in heaven, not on earth). The body of Christ is the Church, or believers, who would be made to worship the beast or the image against their will.

From my understanding, the abomination that caused desolation happened on April 13th in 70AD with the sacrifice of the lamb that was born out of a virgin cow. Shortly there after the Shekinah Glory was removed from the temple, and the temple was destroyed. The prince to come was Titus Vespasion, who personally overseen the total destruction of the city. Laying waste and completely ening the sacrificial system of the Jews. No temple will ever be rebuilt, only attempted, even unto the Consummation.
