Ref gets body slammed in wild youth basketball brawl * Baylor Basketball and Indiana Elite
A high school girl’s basketball game erupted into a violent brawl last weekend when an argument between one of the referees and a coach led to a heated blowout.
The official was caught on video throwing a punch at a spectator and a player before being body-slammed to the ground and then attacked by the player.
The incident took place during a tournament game between Baylor Basketball and Indiana Elite at the Pacers Athletic Center. According to the Indianapolis Star, Baylor’s coach was arguing a call with one of the refs when she was given a technical foul, prompting her and her players to pick up their bags and leave the game.

A silly game at best, must be petty people involved. I’ve been ejected from games ( baseball ) at least 3 times and even though they were bad calls I was angry at the ump and flipped out alright, but never was it an option to get in their face or anything like this idiocy.
Personally if I was the ref I would not getting body slammed slide.

As a basketball official the crying, complaining, and blatant disrespect from coaches and parents is way past out of hand. Got called and uncle tom coon by a coach because his team lost by 30. Same team had a 6ft10 kid and 4 players dunking in warm ups vs an undersized under athletic team. Thats my fault? Theres a reason why there is a shortage of official’s.

In this case the red lost control and took the first shot. He should be charged with assault. The child that started throwing punches on the red on the ground should also be charged with assault. The coach / parent acted in self defense but then crossed the line. He should have lesser charges as well. Anyone else involved should be identified. This stuff has to stop. But in this case the red is the one more in the wrong than anyone else.

Guaranteed if I filmed the guy in the green shirt like that he would have done the same thing. But the ref deserved to get hit. But green shirt knew what he was doing. He was trying to escalate it.

I was on the other side of that court, and I heard yelling and screaming but i thought it was just someone who made a good shot.
Ref got what he deserved. They should’ve kicked him and given him a good beating while he was still on the ground. He provoked the girl recording and suffered the consequences
Looked like the ref was slapping away the phone as the girl was recording him. However, this was super ridiculous.
