About Daily Disciple:
Daily Disciple is a ministry founded to help you follow Jesus Daily.
Whether you are already a passionate disciple of Christ or you just want to learn more about this Jesus thing, my goal is to authentically engage with our questions, struggles, and doubts as we seek to encounter Jesus in our daily lives.
I’m a 21-year-old guy and I don’t know it all, not even close, but as we look in the scripture and talk through life issues and culture, my prayer is that you would move that much closer in relationship to Jesus.
I’ve always enjoyed facing the giants, fireproof, and courageous. Those movies have also been novelized , so check those out if you want to read them.
The only Christian movie I like is book of Eli. All others are low tier and boring
The shack is by far the best Christian movie I’ve ever seen
Redeeming Love awesome performances great movie.
there is an interesting video of Doreen Virtue where she talks about why we should not see the chosen.
The Chosen is great! It takes it’s time and sets up all the characters, which makes the series a bit slow at first, but as it goes on, all these Apostles that I could never relate to before and that felt so far away, suddenly felt like real people.
A few Christian movies that I love that aren’t ‘real’ Christian movies, are Hacksaw Ridge, and the Shawshank Redemption. Shawshank in particular wasn’t written or directed by a Christian, but it uses Christian imagry and themes of hope and redemption to tell it’s story, it ends up being more powerful than a lot of movies made exclusively by Christians, which is kind of sad. Especially since we have the Bible as our inspiration, the greatest story ever told
"Do You Believe?" Pure Flix
Some people say the chosen is super bad. Why?
Sounds like a chosen commercial…I think Angel studios is Mormon, totally not Christian
My 10 fave :
1) The Chosen : it’s amazing!
2) The Passion of the Christ
3) Silence
4) For Greater Glory
5) Hacksaw Ridge
6) Doubt
7) Paul, Apostle of Christ
8) The Case for Christ
9) Of Gods and Men
10) Noah
The Prince of Egypt is amazing, and filled with an amazing soundtrack
Joseph King of Dreams and The Prince of Eypgt
I love the Bible Series—Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, Esther, Jeremiah—using award winning actors in a number of the roles
The problem with God’s not Dead is that they demonize atheists…I have atheist friends who would fight for all religious freedoms….including Christians and our beliefs
What’s the name of the theme at 3:15
My favorite is run the race.
I have so much nostalgia for Prince of Egypt i watched it as a young child and still love it till this day I’m definitely gonna have to rewatch.
I would add "A Walk To Remember" (with Mandy Moore and Shane West). The soundtrack is great, too.
Prince of Egypt works so well because it’s not preachy. Also, it’s well-animated, has amazing music, and the dynamic between Rameses and Moses is believable.
There are so many issues with The Chosen. I would not recommend it to a new believer, especially, and would hope to have an earnest conversation wirh more seasoned Christians about how problematic it is.
I probably rewatch the Prince of Egypt twice a year!!
I’m gonna be a nazi for a second, and ask you don’t use the word suck. If possible. Please.
I really like The Passion Of The Christ. I really was interested in the dynamic of tactics and wit with Jesus and Lucifer. It seems like a strange way to describe literal ultimate good and evil, but there is this strange, encompassing lure to seeing just how good Jesus is and how petty, and scheming, and trickster-ish Lucifer is brought to life by two amazing actors.
excited for The David Movie
I agree with the Gods not dead note, but in terms of character development that’s been all horded by the pastor
Prince of Egypt was your only good one
Prince of Egypt could be interpreted as a Jewish movie as well.
The pilgrims progress is definitely one of if not the best Christian movies that goes under the radar. Animated one
I recommend a Thai Christian film called ‘A Love Betrayed’ which exposes the horrors of the sex trafficking industry in Thailand. Cried harder than I ever have as it really stirs your heart. It’s also free to watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-GxEUlW7Ls&t=26s
Objectively good art??!! Is that possible?
The Prince of Egypt is awesome!
I was pleasantly surprised with Case for Christ, as well as I Can Only Imagine. I was hoping I Still Believe would be as good. It was ok, but not quite on the same level as I Can Only Imagine. The Chosen is absolutely brilliant. I feel these film makers for these were actually interested in film making rather than just trying to translate sermons into a movie which is why they tend to be better than most Christian movies.
I honestly don’t care for God’s Not Dead for the reasons you mentioned. I wanted a movie that might help reach atheists, not set out to mock them.
Miracle from heaven, Do you believe, overcomer,
Dude, finally someone gets it. Have you seen The Masked Saint? It was recorded in my home state and it gave me Christian Marvel vibes. Enjoyed it thoroughly!
The movie I can only imagine and case for christ are subtle because they are real stories. The fictional stories tend to be more preachy because they are fiction. When your telling a story that has already happened you just kinda tell what happened. But when your telling a fictional story you have to make more of an impact which is why they tend to be more preachy.
The Chosen=The best tv show ever!
My favorite Christian movie of all time has to be The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston as Moses. It’s a longer movie, but definitely worth while!
prince of egypt
the case for Christ by lee strobel
i can only imagine
the chosen
face of the giants
SUPER BOOK TO
In God is not dead I feel that it preaches that you could ignore Yashuha messiah your hole life until you are in the verge of death make sure before you die you remoto repent. When repentance is walking away from sin
Someone just told me about this…appreciate the kind words and thoughtful response!
Hacksaw Ridge?
Another Kingdom needs to be made into a movie!!
dude i can see the passion you have for making videos and christianity thank you
I don’t like those Christian movies who got the image, I mean, we’re not sure what Jesus looks like and let’s not assume
