Overview: 2 Corinthians
Watch our overview video on 2 Corinthians, which breaks down the literary design of the book and its flow of thought. In 2 Corinthians, Paul resolves his conflict with the Corinthians by showing how the scandal of the crucifixion turns our value systems upside-down.

Sure wish the Church could’ve preserved Phoebe’s Letter, Corinthians Zero, and Corinthians 1.5. It simply wasn’t in God’s will for us to have them preserved.
GOD IS JUST REAL!!!
BLESSED ME <33…

Beautiful
Finishing dueteronomy and fading in 2nd Corinthians
It’s sad to me how many comment there are about how “the church has never changed”. The church is Gods chosen instrument to bring light into peoples hearts, and is the bride of Christ! If we don’t believe in the church and how beautiful she is, it’s no wonder we’ve never seen a change. Let’s try being encouraging rather than being self righteous
Whoeever is creating these videos is to be commended ..seriously.
What a great grace God has given you. Thank you
Awesome! I love his narrative and crafty way of giving me a great understanding overview of the content in the Holy Bible.

This guy has cried for you….u know u.
Great summary. I read 2nd corinthians and honestly, it took me so long to finish it that I couldn’t grasp some of the main ideas of it. I did get a few memorable nuggets here and there. Thank you for blessing us with this summary clip. YOu brought to light and made clear things that were initially dim to me, such as the idea of ears being turned away from Paul because of his appearance, socioeconomic status, etc. However, these are the things that made him so similar to Jesus. Sometimes expectations create barriers that prevent people from experiencing the gospel of Jesus and who he really is. It happened when Jesus was performing miracles on the Earth and it continues to happen now. Jesus presenting himself in such a humble manner, and Paul as well, takes the exclusivity out of Christianity. He came for the poor and rich, the broken and the confused, the educated and the uneducated. And no matter what your background is…He can use you for his purpose.
I love it.
Thank you very much for this! I’m currently studying 2corinthians and this made it easier to understand❤️
So-oo much to ponder and meditate on in 2 Corinthians. That is, when you actually read Scripture, not as much when you watch "Read Scripture."
Mackie & Co. are expert about painting the broad strokes. But the true delight in this letter is the in-between details, none of which are mentioned in this vid. Mackie focuses on Paul’s plight regarding the Corinthians trying to discredit him because he wasn’t rich or fancy. But that’s only a sliver of the whole story.
More themes left out: we become a new creation when we’re saved (chpt 5), God dwells among us when we’re pure (chpt 6/7), finding repentance through godly vs. worldly sorrow (chpt. 7), destroying strongholds (chpt. 10), being a cheerful giver (chpt. 9), how to know if you’re really saved? (chpt. 13). So much incredible content, all covered right here.
ALSO, did you know Paul’s spirit was catapulted up to heaven and back (chpt 12, cf. Acts 9). No other NT letter talks about that. And guess what he discovered there…?

Why paul is talking about transformation if there is no law. Something seems wrong to me
Amazing!
Thank You.
I just love this channel so much .you explained this 2 corinthians so well and I used it to explain to my children
So the church was already acting up as soon as it was created….smh
BibleProject is the best!

Thank you I’m a visual learner God bless you, I’m 57and your never too late to receive his goodness
This has helped me, thank you. Writing an essay for my Scripture II class in seminary and this has provided a wonderful breakdown. Although I wonder why you left out St. Paul’s experience in 2 Corinthians 12 of the “Third Heaven”? There are also some important exegetical aspects there.
May the Lord bless you. ☦️
Amazing!! Dr!

So grateful to live in a country where we can openly worship Jesus!!!
Wow I can see parellels between our time and ancient corrinth. Funny how they had charismatic leaders misguiding the corrinthians…in today’s time I think of the mega churches with wealthy millionaire preachers. I wonder what Paul would think of them today.
How many women are in the comments???
That was pretty awesome. I enjoyed it.
Serious question that I need an answer to: why is 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 not mentioned?
14 Do not be yoked togetherwith unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”
17 Therefore,
“Come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”
18 And,
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”

This was so good.
Wow great job
EDIT: The reference to the part of the letter where Paul says the letter "was written with anguish and tears" is written as 2 Cor. 1:3-4. It should be corrected to 2 Cor. 2:3-4.

Could you guys make a video clarifying 2 Corinthians 6:14-17? I believe it’s really important to talk about it, since it’s a bit confusing too
