MacArthur, on the other hand, has a vast knowledge of the Bible and goes to great pains to explain it so articulately. I can honestly say that he changed the direction of my life. I am forever grateful to find such a wonderful teacher. Therefore, I’ve created this YouTube channel in order to propagate his accurate and thorough Biblical teachings.

He says there are no instructions in the New Testament Church about healing. What about James 5:13-18? Those are, in fact, very clear instructions concerning prayer for the sick and healing. MacArthur also says that in the Book of Act, healings fade. Yet, in the last chapter of Acts, chapter 28, while Paul was on Malta, in verses 7-10, we read that Paul prayed for the father of Publius by laying his hands on him and healing him. And when this had taken place, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases also came and were cured.
…"So we have to be very careful in understanding the biblical directives for healing. I believe God heals, but I believe He heals in response to His sovereignty and in response to prayer. If there are people today who seem to see God heal in response to their ministry, then I say from Scriptural evidence, they may have the gift of faith to which God responds as they pray. But the gifts of healing were apostolic, and they could go about healing the unbelieving to confirm the Word. Thus, when the Word came, that gift ceased to have any point.
Don’t forget for a minute too that some of the healings may be real. God may desire to heal somebody. Satan also can heal. Matthew 7, read it. You can read about it in Acts 8. You can read about it in Acts 13. Satan can heal. In fact, Jesus Christ did all of this, and they finally concluded that He was from Satan, didn’t they? What He did, He did by the power of Beelzebub. They were so familiar with the fact that Satan could counterfeit everything, that the Jews assigned Jesus to Satan and said, “It’s Satan doing the healing. Satan can do these things.” The idea that certain people can heal in an assembly line fashion is non-biblical. I’ve often thought if they really had the gift of healing, they’d be in the hospitals, not in tents. They’d be going to unbelievers, and they’d be preaching the gospel and confirming the Word to them.
So the gift of healing, and we should do a study all on that entire thing sometimes in the future because it is important. So the gift of healing, again, never was intended for believers, never was intended as a permanent thing. It was a sign of the apostles. It was one of the gifts of apostles. Today and even at the oldest book in the New Testament, James, the injunction is, “Pray for the sick.”.."

MacArthur’s arrogance is His downfall. And his faith is pretty much all in his head. If you adhere to his beliefs the Holy Spirit mights as well not exist. God still does miracles.
I like John MacArthur so much. That I am wondering if he really said this. Could it be someone else. I am probably wrong on this part but the Bible says when antichrist comes he will perform all kinds of false wonders. + I am convinced he will have the power to make it look like someone said something that they never said. But the truth is the Bible says, LET US ENTER INTO THE THRONE OF GRACE Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord +he will give you the desire of your heart…. Oh wow, this is wayward and heretical teaching. This is in direct contradiction to John 14:12.
This is false! We should always test what preachers say in light of scripture! Scripture is abundantly clear that by the spirit each believer is to receive a spiritual gift. If that were not so Paul would not give such clear instructions on these said gifts and how they are to be used among the body of believers. These instructions were never meant to be just for the churches long ago but for All churches, everywhere, until Jesus Christs’ return!
There is more love & hope in the gospel Jesus preached then I hear here. I see people get healed all the time. I’ve seen eyes and ears open. Jesus is the same today as he was during the original apostles. His heart is as much to heal(love) through us His ambassadors as it was then. If you look at scripture with belief you’ll see it everywhere.

For those who disagree with pastor john, he in no way believes that god does not heal any longer. But I know from his sermons that he does acknowledge. People are healed through the power of prayer. But we see no evidence of healings as done by Jesus or the apostles, where a word was given and healing was instant or the touch of a scarf. Are they touch of a garment or passing underneath someone’s shadow. If the gift of healing were truly here and in an instant, then healers would be going to leopard colonies and instantly heal people or to the end-stage cancer award or AL. S and in an instant able to heal people. We see nothing like that today
I like John MacArthur but his own opinion is not enough to turn down doctrine.

This is why doctrine is critical against man’s thinking.

But I have received healing with no medical explanation, after I was told that I would have to get surgery. I used the healing scriptures in the Bible. So this man is wrong. I lived it!! I also was healed of chronic migraines, chronic back and neck pain, plantar fachitis, depression, anxiety attacks, OCD and blocked sinus cavities. You have to believe it first. If you don’t believe me, believe Jesus. Look up Mark 16:15-18.
This Christianity that he is exposing is not the actual Christianity of the New Testament. Stop listening to this man through books, podcasts and tapes – pray, read the bible for yourself, and then you will see that there are many misguided MacArthur teachings and principles. 1600’s church history will not save your soul.
I believe your right about there is no gift of healing as you see false prophets do BUT does God still perform miracles today with in His will in peoples lives YES He can and does.

I thank you in the name of the Lord Jesus for opening peoples understanding to firstly why you came to us as Jesus. To free the captives. To save people from their sins. And to bring the New Covenant.
I thank you Father in the name of the Lord Jesus also for opening their understanding to how your ministry involves repentance and remission of sins and devils that entered through sins and deliverance and healings and miracles are ALL part of your ministry. And that you set the example for Your ministry how others should follow.
Thank you Father also for opening their understanding in the name of the Lord Jesus for teaching them that Your ministry continues through Your believers and that You instructed Your believers to continue to preach Your Word and to cast out demons and that signs and miracles and healings would follow them that believe and that You Lord would be there to confirm Your Word.

I appreciate the special role of the apostles. I appreciate the special use of miracles during the birth and establishment of the church. But James teaches us to pray and the sick will be restored. Paul speaks of various gifts or manifestations of the spirit, one of those he mentions is healing.
Don’t believe the lies of this guy in his sheeps clothing! He is a liar and a wolf underneath! This doctrine is demonic and its purpose is to destroy your faith! Let me tell you the real truth:
You don’t need an apostle for a miracle in today’s world! You just need faith in the Bible and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ! He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords! He is everywhere at the same time and He can do all things! He will hear and answer your prayer because He is faithful!
He will perform a miracle for you if you believe that His word is true! Some time ago I pray d for a person who lived in a broken little wooden shack. The wind blew right through it and it rained into it. She had two small children. I prayed and asked God to give her a proper home. The very next day, she was approachwd by a man who was a business owner and he told her that he wants to build her a home! Praise the Lord! She got a house after one day of prayer! That is the true God whom I serve! His name is Jesus Christ!
So, Dear christians , satan is the true enemy , not word of faith and not other born again christians! If you are ever taught, in your church, to hate word of faith and miracles, you are in a church driven by satan himself! Because satan hates those things too!
Jesus Christ taught the word of faith doctrine, so how can it be demonic? (Mark 11 : 22 -24). That is why satan hates it! In fact to think that word of faith is demonic, actually is demonic! Peter himself confessed that what he preached is the word of faith! So get out of these CCOFD churches (Cessationism Church Of False Doctrines) and get ready for the rapture! Jesus Christ is coming soon!
Cessationism will only begin at the rapture because then the Spirit filled Christians will be removed from the earth and their Holy Ghost gifts of speaking in tongues and healings of the sick will be gone! But for now, we must preach and live the word of faith!

You’re wrong. Paul healed people. The boy that fell from the window and died. Paul fell on him and brought him back to life(Eutychus in Acts 20:7-12). Also Paul, when placed, not stranded, in Malta, healed Publius, the chief official of the island’s father, which prompted the sick of the island to come to Paul for healing. So Paul, as a believer, could heal. Finally, in Jesus’ Great Commission, as told by Mark, in Mark 16:18, Jesus declares that, amongst other things, believers will place their hands on people and they will be healed.

Miracles and Healing are gifts God has given to the Church
1 Corinthians 12:28
[28]And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.
Healing from addictions are for me the most significant miracles. People are struggling for years and after asking Jesus for help they can give up anything and and never go back. Glory to God.

This is one of the reasons I don’t have a lot of respect for this guy. He claims to be so smart by exegeting scripture and being an authority that rights books and is popular and then he outright ignores scripture about gifts given to the entire church and not just apostles.
No miracles happening without apostles present? Sounds like really bad bias, why would Paul have to write letters detailing the spiritual gifts to churches where there wasn’t an apostle present?
The church is the person not the building. The believers met in houses not a facility in their community that’s coupled with a denomination.
WHAT I’VE WITNESSED
I used to attend Benny Hinn’s church and was there early on a Sunday night. There was a man that entered just a little after me and I noticed he was sullen in appearance as if his countenance was downcast, pulling an oxygen tank and was overall sickly because his skin looked as if he had gotten cancer from smoking and it had expanded into his blood. Long story short, he came forward at the end of the evening when everyone would be encouraged to come forward and left with his color back. Benny Hinn didn’t pray with him, he went forward seeking. I never heard Binny say, "Yeah I did that, that was me congregation.
He kept going to his Dr, he stayed on the oxygen and his meds and visits, til the Dr told him he could stop the oxygen, meds, and visits.
He kept going to Hinn’s church and rejoicing that God have him the healing.

I respect you. I agree with you on probably 99% of every thing you talk about . Including the pretrib rapture theory . It’s possible I may have misunderstood you+If I have ,I apologise. I may have the wrong idea of what you mean by miracle. But putting that aside. I love to share my faith with athiest. One athiest I shared with after I shared with him most of the things that God has done for me , he replied, "YOUR A GOOD STORY TELLER, YOU MAKE UP ALLOT OF STORYS. I will say however that Years ago I prayed for my eye sight +never seen any improvement but I, believe Paul prayed to have a thorn removed in his body . +God did not remove it . Year’s ago I was going through a period of depression I started an answered prayer book because I had already been suffering for almost 4 years I could not pull myself out of it . I was very negative about GOD not wanting to answer my prayers. But when I started the answered prayer book I was forced to believe that God was going to hear my prayers . One of the first things that that happened to me I lost my keys , I prayed + believed, as I was talking to the lord I told the Lord that I was going to have celebration to myself, so I started singing to myself, I walked near this one aisle at Job Lot store, I tell people all the time when I share this testimony, "I DONT EXPECT YOU TO BELIEVE THIS because when I was a new Christian I would have problems believing this story also but this is the truth. I got near this aisle ,I saw noticed a lady at the end of the aisle + this very strong feeling came over me , THAT LADY IS GOING TO FIND YOUR KEYS. I did not hear any voices , but the feeling was so strong I said to myself , let me step back, I dont want any thing to do with this, if I have any thing to do with this I will mess it up. The very first thing the lady did was head 4 this barrel of bungle cords, she put her head down the very first bungle cord she pulled up MY SMALL KEY WAS ATTACHED TO THAT BUNGIE CORD. So I might be wrong but perhaps you classify this as a miracle.
No one has the Gift of Miracles BUT God still does Miracles if it’s His will today

If casting out demons is part of the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ (God) and a human being says the opposite of what God says, what does that tell you?

For all the people that believe they’re moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit I challenge you to go to a local hospital and lay hands on the children with terminal cancer… All you need to do is get a ministers visitor’s pass and if parents won’t let you touch them then walk through those hallways and pray… Otherwise keep your mouth shut and stop leading people into a ditch… In addition for people that can claim you can have Divine health and never get sick ask yourself a simple question will you or anybody else that you believe has this manifestation be alive in 200 years from now absolutely not… The human body after a certain amount of time an organ system will fail and you will die so your argument is a false argument.. read your Bible get some medical information on stop lying to people because the devil is using you

Ananias healed Paul and wasn’t what John refers to as an apostle. Know the word, to see the hypocrisy
He doesn’t believe in miracles at all? Miracles happen every day. And he is also very wrong on the apostles having to be present for a healing or a miracle to occur. Jesus himself clearly states in Mark Chapter 16, "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues, they will pick up serpents with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover. That applies to all believers, not just apostles. It’s as plain as day and right in the bible. But when you are trying to embrace your own cult, you will change the bible, put your own name on it and twist the verses to mean what you want them to say. Don’t listen to this man. God and his Holy Spirit are very alive in this end times hour. To deny the actual words of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to twist his words, and explain them to not mean what has been said – that is heresy, and signs of a cult. The Word of God is the Word of God. You can’t change God’s word around and teach such strict doctrine that is untrue and claim to follow Christ.
Because the book is about the apostles
Dear Brother MacArthur,
You make a very strong assertion in this conversation by saying, "There is no occasion of a miracle in the Book of Acts without an apostle present." Could it be that this book is called "Acts of the Apostles" for this very reason? If I’m not mistaken, this is called circular reasoning.
On the other hand, in the work of the Holy Spirit in Samaria, the apostles only come later. It starts with an evangelist named Philip in Acts 8:5. After he preached Christ, many were healed (verse 7). Not a single apostle was present!!! They were all in Jerusalem. It is not until verse 14 that Peter and John are sent to Samaria!
Dear brother, have you been blinded by your theology or your zeal for the truth?
Dr MacArthur is America’s greatest Bible teacher? If so, why does he misrepresent what the bible actually says, and believe in a "blood-less" gospel?
If God can’t or doesn’t perform healing and miracles today, then he’s either a very miserable God who doesn’t love mankind or that he doesn’t exist at all.

Healing is part of repentance and deliverance which is casting out of demons is also connected to repentance. All of this is explained in the teachings of Jesus.
Anyone saying the opposite IS IGNORANT Or an agent of satan.
First statement is simply not true:
“Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.””

John 14:12
[12]Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
Paul’s handkerchief healed and cast out demons, without him being there.
Acts 19:11-12
[11]God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,
[12]so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out.
James 5 addresses the provision for healing through the prayer of faith. Healing is still available today the same way forgiveness is still available.
James 5:14-16
[14]Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
[15]and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
[16]Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
Healing is part of the Gospel. Jesus took our sin the same way He took our sicknesses.
Isaiah 53:4-5
[4]Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. [Matt. 8:17.]
[5]But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
Matthew 8:16-17
[16]When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick.
[17]And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases. [Isa. 53:4.]
