The "ei" combination is usually pronounced "eye" in German, not "eee", right? So wouldn’t her last name be pronounced "Neye-sa" rather than "Nee-sa"? (Plus the male commentator didn’t sound like he knew much of anything about skeleton.)

  11. Tyler Durden on February 16, 2022 at 10:46 pm

That rise at 1:10 is fricking insanity. It has ruined this course for so many competitors. What a joke.

  12. CruxCapacitor on February 16, 2022 at 10:47 pm

For all the talk of Jamaican bobsledders (which is impressive, for sure), can we stop and think about how odd it is for Australia to have so many Winter Olympics medals?

  13. alex androutsos on February 16, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Congratulations to her. Feel bad for all the silenced Athletes who get their cries for help denied

  15. Danielle on February 16, 2022 at 10:49 pm

  16. AdderTude on February 16, 2022 at 10:53 pm

I noticed that they’re forced to sacrifice time by dragging their toes so that they don’t crash coming out of Turn 13. Really is kinda telling about the design of that particular turn if skeleton is forced to drag toes or stick a leg out to stabilize but luge and bobsled end up crashing.

  20. 1313sp on February 16, 2022 at 11:01 pm

I think this one is the scariest of all the winter sports.

  21. Elwood P. Dowd on February 16, 2022 at 11:02 pm

One of my favorite events but it looks a bit scary.

skeleton has to be hands down the most terrifying winter olympic sport

  28. GG Gem on February 16, 2022 at 11:07 pm

My head will definitely explode at that speed if I hit something, even with the helmet.

  29. drew foster on February 16, 2022 at 11:08 pm

I can do this on the alpine sled.

  30. SloGro on February 16, 2022 at 11:09 pm

where does the skill come in, them steering it? seems scary for sure but it also seems like the easiest of all olympic sports just an observation it’s just suprising to me this is in the olympics and not some niche side sport

  31. Lasher on February 16, 2022 at 11:10 pm

    How fast are they going?

  32. Mark Hiew on February 16, 2022 at 11:11 pm

This sport looks like it was invented by teenage boys who got bored with sleds and wanted to see what it would be like to break your neck going really fast down some ice.

  33. William Robert on February 16, 2022 at 11:12 pm

Medals are lost by hundreds of a second, I would eat cabbage and chili a few hours before the race, anything to make up that small amount of time.

  34. eros on February 16, 2022 at 11:13 pm

    GYAT

  35. isocuda on February 16, 2022 at 11:14 pm

I also get a kick out of this because the announcers talk about the run and corners the same way you would in motorsport.

It’s the same thing, high risk and high reward favoring smoothness and timing.

  36. Rashad Marshall on February 16, 2022 at 11:14 pm

This has to be the most dangerous sport ever. 1 wrong move and you have a broken necc.

  37. Nina Jones on February 16, 2022 at 11:15 pm

These women have more bravery and guts than I ever will!

  38. Voky Sweet on February 16, 2022 at 11:16 pm

Looks like it’s white game where most are european descendants. Where is Affirmative Actions? I don’t see any black, hispanics, or native americans?

  39. Brett on February 16, 2022 at 11:17 pm

Woulda been more dramatic if you didn’t put the outcome in the title.

  41. Jane Owen on February 16, 2022 at 11:20 pm

  42. Michelle M on February 16, 2022 at 11:22 pm

    How fast do they go?

  43. William Tung on February 16, 2022 at 11:24 pm

    What do you do?
I ride a Costco cargo cart down ice slopes at 130km/h head first wearing nothing but a helmet and tights
