Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?

Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?

Should Christians celebrate Halloween? This has been a popular question that I typically get around this time a year. What, if anything, does the Bible say about this and how should Christians conduct themselves during the Halloween season? In this video I talk about 5 key things to be mindful of as you prepare for this time of year.

If we use this " unusual " day to bring people together, to enjoy costumes that are not demeaning or satanic in any way, share treats, and teach our children these things…
    it’s quite ok!

I love Halloween. I love scary movies.

Unfortunately, Allen Parr got it wrong on this one. We cannot participate in demonic or worldly things just because we don’t see it as demonic or far from God. And as much as I dislike that, nothing about Halloween is HOLY or innocent. We are to raise our children in the way they should go. Not in the ways of things that seem innocent. People can innocently participate in New Age practices, demonic practices, sinful practices and they are still all sin and require repentance, forgiveness, and a turning away.

Halloween is of the devil; celebrating witches and warlocks is evil. There is something wrong with celebrating the things of the devil. It is black and white. Good or evil. What is good about Halloween. Yes, it does. Don’t give place to the devil. You need Gino Jennings to teach you. God has spoken to you. Celebrating a holiday dedicated to the devil.

  7. Cee Gee5 on February 15, 2022 at 10:37 pm

Shun the very appearance of evil.

Gino Jennings would put a good wiping on your hide concerning your lack of standing on the word of God.

Even if parents dress their kid up as something non demonic it’s in the name of Halloween. Satan doesn’t come as a devil with horns. He comes as a angel of light to deceive. As Christians this is a opportunity to stand firm in our belief and not give in Satanic celebration or idol worship.

If any of us have a issue with whether a Christian should celebrate Halloween. We should ask ourselves would God get the glory out of children of the Light celebrating darkness.

I decided that halloween 2021 was my last year celebrating it. So no more dressing up and trick or treating for me. I’ll just stay home and watch Yu-Gi-Oh GX.

  21. Steve R on February 15, 2022 at 10:59 pm

All of us kids got to dress up for Halloween to go to Catholic school. They even had a haunted house there. Didn’t know better back then.

  22. Myrlande Mathias on February 15, 2022 at 11:00 pm

I disagree with you, Christian should not celebrate Halloween period.

  23. judah sawyerr on February 15, 2022 at 11:00 pm

Seriously nobody is trying to conjure some evil spirit or speak to the dead, but people do it especially occultist

  24. Anthony Gomez on February 15, 2022 at 11:03 pm

I just seen this post and with all the respect my brother I agree with a lot but not the celebrating, I don’t believe in celebrating much anything. I just whant to understand something in Revelations 21:8
It talks about sorcerers which includes whiches wizard etc you get the point so how is it not a sin to partake in devil’s ,let me explain if I know that a crime is going to happen and I don’t do anything an I as guilty. We are not to give voice to any demonic forces but yet we can take part in it pls explain

  25. André Lima on February 15, 2022 at 11:04 pm

Birthday, Sunday and Haloween are as related to each other as ankle, mosquito and seahorse. You got be kidding. You reasoning is laughable.

  28. Dave Erwin on February 15, 2022 at 11:07 pm

My wife was raised in the UK where Hallowe’en was considered an evil night. Even today people’s pets disappear and are found slaughtered in abandoned churches and cemeteries. Church groups would often come together to pray on this particular night. She wonders why people would choose to celebrate fear. I grew up here in North America and saw it as a cultural event only but she certainly has a good point. We never celebrated the event when our kids were small. As an alternative we attended church events on that night celebrating fun and games. We did however, after a few year, start handing out treats in a low key manner. It certainly creates controversy every year.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. 1 corinthians 10:23 I agree that halloween is not practiced for most of the apart for sacrifice, but the question is, is it helpful and does it build me up

  32. Neena Daniels on February 15, 2022 at 11:09 pm

But…Brother Allen, in your new age video you can apply that genetic fallacy argument to those things that have a bad history, yet you still condemn those new age things. im genuinely wondering if you are just biased because you partake? Maybe something to question, maybe not. You still have a ton of good informarion in alot of your videos, but i noticed this inconsistency with this video compared to your stance toward other things in a couple other videos

  33. 3ddy 7ouis on February 15, 2022 at 11:12 pm

Luke warm white washed open sepulcher full of dead man’s bones. So woke that you are asleep. If you celebrate Halloween you’re celebrating the god of this world. Repent for the confidence that you have given Christians the ability to be OK with serving Satan. There is nothing for a Christian in Halloween not one thing. SMH

  34. THE BEAT by Allen Parr on February 15, 2022 at 11:12 pm

Around this time every year I get this question and so I finally wanted to address it for this year and beyond. Now, on this one, I’d LOVE to hear your perspective. Please know that I did NOT feel it necessary to go into all of the roots and origins of Halloween. There are other videos that do that. Leave RESPECTFUL comments below. In other words, don’t offend people with your perspective and be willing to respectfully agree to disagree. Remember, we are all Christians and should show the love of Christ to one another.

  35. Yati Nunez on February 15, 2022 at 11:13 pm

Allen- I love your videos, but this one I will need to disagree with. When you think of Holloween it has everything to do with being scared and darkness, why would we be ok with celebrating darkness, whitchcraft, fear, death, etc. We are to be light in mist of the darkness, not to partake. One the other hand I do beleive that we the Church should do better at educating, if someone dors knock on your door evangalize God’s good word vs cowering in our homes.

  36. Vickie Squire on February 15, 2022 at 11:13 pm

Why do Christians always reason with SIN? Do atheists witches, warlocks demon possessed people hang out with Christians on GOOD FRIDAY? What about RESURRECTION DAY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST? Do they celebrate with us a Baptism? But let CHRISTIANS hang out with the world on satanic night? Ok y’all be the judge.

  37. Strawberries Blueberries on February 15, 2022 at 11:14 pm

Amen good video, very good points, I agree. I would avoid the ghost costumes. I would dress up in innocent things.

  38. J R on February 15, 2022 at 11:16 pm

I’m a sinner but this men a false preacher leading other to the fire of pitOn that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers’" (Matthew 7:21-23). This the same men that we should smoke weed are BODY a temple and belong to god why pump all that smoke in your lungs come on brother

  39. John Anthony on February 15, 2022 at 11:17 pm

This is a secular pastor with no standard of holiness at all. This subject shouldn’t even be up for debate. How can you dismiss something that is pagan at its roots and today. This is the same type of person that thinks the church needs to change with the times when Gods is the same yesterday today and forever. This dude is in love with the world

  40. MsLadybug818 on February 15, 2022 at 11:18 pm

I was surprised that Allen’s views on Halloween were in line with mine… my personal conviction on this topic is that I will not have anything demonic in my home, no witches, ghosts, monsters not even jack’o lanterns… I will decorate my home with plain pumpkins, fall leaves, corn, and farm like scare crows… my daughter know she can dress up for halloween but no blood, death, or evil related costumes will be considered. This past year she was a football player, last year Frida Kahlo. I know what Halloween means in my home, it’s wholesome childhood fun, but if the holy spirit convicts you another way then that’s your conviction, not the word of God!

  41. Nikki B on February 15, 2022 at 11:18 pm

I want people to know that Halloween should NOT be celebrated by believers. It should not be celebrated by Gods true remnants. Do not be deceived by the enemy. He is laughing harder at Christians who partake in this pagan holiday than the unbelievers who partake.

It’s time we stop sugar coating the Bible and expose the lies of the enemy during these times. We can’t pick and choose verses and try to justify things that aren’t biblical. Also, as parents we are accountable for our children so I strongly advise parents to never allow your kids to be involved in this holiday, watch anything that is spooky, or put up any decorations.
My husband and I proudly got baptized on October 31, 2021. I fell into full repentance and fell on my knees before the Lord because I knew that I grieved the Holy Spirit for ever participating in this holiday. People I warn you as a sister in Christ, it’s a dangerous day to give over to the enemy even if it seems innocent. Protect your souls and your little ones!

    Ephesians 5:11
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
Also, the book of Nehemiah references the day October 31st.

Let’s rejoice in our Lord and never give the enemy a way in. He is a good good Father and Loves us!
    May God Bless everyone!

I don’t think that promiscuous women need a day to wear less clothes. They do it everyday now.

  43. FrankieWalz on February 15, 2022 at 11:22 pm

I respect you Allen. And I love alot of your videos but, if you really believe that people aren’t trying to conjure spirits, sacrificing to idols and performing other occultic practices, you need to be in the word a bit more, and you need a bit more discernment about the nature and truth of the world. Again, you’re free to do what you want but I haveto disagree with you on your view of Halloween

  44. Ron Smalls on February 15, 2022 at 11:23 pm

This is why I cannot subscribe to this station get off the fence. Call it out we as Christian’s should not celebrate Halloween. We need to stand up as Christians and call wrong, wrong.

  45. steve on February 15, 2022 at 11:23 pm

No.. I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas. I get drug through the Holidays.

  46. Terence Hoefdraad on February 15, 2022 at 11:23 pm

If somebody is against celebrating Halloween because of its pagan origin, than they shouldn’t celebrate Christmas on December 25th either!
