Unfortunately, as Pastor Voddie argues, our knowledge of this event comes more from the dispensational zionist teaching prevalent in our day than from the Word of God. This calls us to scrutinize our preconceived notions of this text, and examine it through a biblical lens.

Thank you Voddie for shaking up all that literal nonsense in these verses – a literal battle of Armageddon on the ground, etc. – and getting us back focused on the most important matters of all – the spiritual ones! But when dealing with the nation of Israel you should beware of throwing the baby out with the bath water: there is a clear thread running through scripture that says the Jewish nation is special to God, by God’s sovereign will they are his chosen people, and whatever Godless state they are in right now, he has plans for them in the future to reconcile them to his Son, our Lord Jesus (they shall look upon the one they have pierced). So I agree that does not mean blind indulgence with everything they do, and that political alliance is no guarantee of spiritual safety, but remember that historically any nation that persecuted the Jews never ended up doing so well…
If our people who are destroyed for lack of knowledge would study history it would help. In The Great War, a war unlike any had ever seen on earth before, a devout Christian General, leading CHRISTENDOM, fought the Battle of Armageddon(it was in all the papers) against the Islamic Caliphate (carrying the spiritual authority of Rome as decreed by the Eastern Orthodox Church when the conquered constantinople), and won. This led to the freeing of Jerusalem from the seven times (2520 years) of punishment (rule under empires given the heart of a beast). This also fulfilled Daniels 1335, and 1290.
Best explanation I’ve heard about the book of Revelation and end times…Christ is exaulted, not man or a geopolitical area, but Christ alone gets all glory and honor and praise. AMEN
I love listening to brother Voddie on a lot of topics, except eschatology. He totally misrepresented what we believe about Israel, by no means do we say that everything Israel does is right. We also don’t believe that salvation is based on what we believe about Israel. Brother Voddie is very intelligent, therefore I’m surprised that he would misrepresent most of us who believe that Israel has been given the Land of Israel in an everlasting covenant. We also believe that through much suffering during the tribulation, Israel will be cleansed and will believe in Jesus, as the Messiah. All of Israel will be saved, specifically 1/3 remaining. Go back and read the covenant made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Salvation only through Jesus and no one else.

Amen! Dispensationalism has mislead so many people into worshiping Jews instead of Jesus. Dispensationalists believe that Jesus Christ was unable to destroy the wall of separation and there is still a distinction between Jews and Gentiles despite (Gal.3:28-29)(Eph.2:11-22)(Acts 15:8-9)(John 10:16)(Mat.21:43)(Mat.8:11-12) not to mention that they foolishly claim that God owes the Jews even though He fulfilled ALL promises (Josh. 21:43-45; So the LORD gave to Israel ALL THE LAND OF WHICH HE SWORN TO GIVE to their fathers and THEY TOOK POSSESSION OF IT and DWELT IN IT…45; NOT A WORD FAILED of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. ALL CAME TO PASS.)(Josh.23:14-16)(1 Kings 8:56; "Blessed be the Lord who has given rest His people according to ALL THAT HE PROMISED. THERE HAS NOT FAILED ONE WORD OF ALL HIS GOOD PROMISE which He promised through His servant Moses.)(Num.34:1-15)(Neh.9:7-8; 9:22-25)… Dispensational-Zionism is a false heretical teaching that labels God a liar, Jesus Christ a failed King and forces their followers to hate the Bride of Christ and worship the Christ hating Jews instead, never mind that Jesus Christ clearly says (Rev.2:9; 3:9)… Thank God for true men of God like Voddie Baucham, RC Sproul, John R Crosby, Martyn Lloyd Jones, GK Beale, Joel Beeke, Sam Storms, and many others who hold to the true Amillennial eschatology before the false teachers like John Darby, CI Scofield came and derailed the weak in faith 150 years ago with their futurist Dispensational-Zionism.

I’m sorry, Mr. Baucham, we part ways here. I will pray for you and wish you well. God’s time will tell us. All the comments sound like you have taken the light away from Jesus and shined it on yourself. You have masterfully but erronerously scrambled up the scripture to speak against Israel. I’m not buying your method of presenting the scriptures against Israel. It is a dangerous slide we are on for another holocaust. I will stand no where close to your presentation in this video above. To coin a phrase you like to use “help you”. God is the same God He was throughout the Old and New Testaments. He has not changed his mind on His Chosen Nation. Please continue to search the scriptures.
I just wasted my time (an hour) listening to a long drawn out Red Herring against that which Our Savior revealed to his servant John. But Voddie thinks he knows more than Jesus and John because they don’t make sense to him. He commits the fallacy of Uniformity from reverse. He assumes that the Earth of Revelation 6 -19 is untouched by God and will look the same in the Future. Plus, no one teaches that The Kings from the East will come against Israel. This is bad exegesis. They are coming to fight the Anti-Christ (someone whose future existence is denied by Voddie). Please stick to the text Voddie. This sermon is based on human pride and a faulty Tradition called A Millennialism.

Voddie – I’ve learned so much from you and will continue to listen to your sermons. You’re a gifted teacher. However, when it comes to the Book of Revelation, I have to say I’m going to stay with your friend John MacArthur’s view. I’ve been following reformed teaching for several years, and I’m astonished that I’ve been called by God! It’s been the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me and I love the Lord so much because of what He’s done. Bless you and your ministry – rational folks can disagree on some eschalogical things – but we who get Jesus right are blessed with salvation. One thing is certain, we’ll know one day, and how we finally end up in the presence of Jesus won’t matter to us, praise God!

Mountains are surrounded by valleys
This is why I don’t look too much in to biblical prophecies. I sense the church is overthinking it at this point. We must not lose focus in the Lord Jesus Christ, whatever happens in the middle east let it happen. God is the Righteous Judge and He will exert His Judgment on anyone. If anything, what we should be watching out more is the rise of the anti-christ. That’s what’s concerning to me when I see people demanding for world peace. Do not forget what our Lord Jesus Christ said:
"Take heed that no man deceive you."
The devil will use good to deceive many. A man that many Christians will believe that he is sent by God but is sent by the devil himself. Be skeptical in all things from now on.
Why does the bible say that Zionist christian shall be deceived by worshipping the Dragon!

What does Voodie say about what is happening in Israel now, since the terror attack on Oct 7 23..?
This was an awesome sermon and I believe the pastor is absolutely right as far as geometric Allegiance. But I believe that the pastor also takes a few liberties. One of which is the explanation of the mark of the beast being placed on the hand or the forehead. That’s very specific and we can see that actually happening today. Further what about the 144,000 worldwide of the Jews that will be spared that will be evangelizing the world. I agree that this is a spiritual war but I also recognize, too, the literal. If we read the minor prophets it’s very specific about the judgment of the Israel people, it speaks of judgment against Israel then & now. First how they turned their back on God then but also TODAY and that judgement will be upon them. Yet He then proclaims the forgiveness of His people and the judgement & end of of the "Nineveh peoples & the ALLIES Nahmun 1:11 – 15 : vs 12 – "This is what the Lord says: Although they have allies and are numerous, they will be cut off & pass away. Although I have afflicted you, I Judah, I will aflict you no more" . vs 14: the Lord has given a command concerning you, Nineveh (referring to the Assyrians), You will have no descendants to bury your name. I will destroy the carved images and cast out all Idols that are in the temples of your gods and I will prepare your grave for you are vile". Further in vs 15, God promises He will fulfill His vows. "No more will the wicked INVADE you; they will be completely destroyed". Obviously this is referring to a completely physical & spiritual end which hasn’t occurred yet! But pastor is correct that we, as Christians, fight a spiritual battle constantly and need to constantly reviewing OUR walk in righteousness! So I believe both concepts are valid.
Also in reference to Armegedan: in Hebrew Armegedan is derived from two words: Har & Magdon which speaks of the "Hill of Megiddo" which is in the "Valley of Jezreel or later called Megiddo" is a 200 mile long Valley infamous for many military battle and is the most militarily strategic point in the Middle East. Is Revelations referring to this as the spot for a physical battle called Armageddon? That may be in question yet that’s scripture reference here. One thing for sure is that a great battle WILL take place with the physical description of being so extreme that the "blood of Christ’s enemies (the Assyrians & it’s allies) will be up to the main of a horse" which is ruffly 6′ deep. That’s quite unimportant physical image.
We follow Yeshua the Messiah, the Lion from the tribe of Judea. The promise from the Lord God our Father is eternal.

Israel was certainly Israel in Ezekiels valley of dry bones, and indeed all of Ezekiel AND Daniels prophecies why is it now under question?

I don’t need to justify everything Israel does (and I don’t) in order to say Israel is in fact Israel. Particularly when "our teacher" here offers no alternative explanation that emerges from Scripture.

This is by far the best eschatological exposition I have heard on Revelation. I’m so used to it being a go-to guide to those "left behind" and am glad that someone finally explains it in a way that is more of Doxology that actually makes sense and is applicable today . Praise be to Almighty God and Lord Jesus Christ!
The book of Revelation is obscured as is its order of events. Dispensationalism as with Rapture doctrines is about the worst texts created by western world to date. Those who have an ear let them hear is a command not an option for Yeshua’s flock.

Voddie is WRONG … the Book of REVELATION is relative types till the sound of the Trumpets…. Why did a man say this is our Armageddon its not a place its a war tittle. Deadly wound healed where Jesus was crucified 1948.. Why is covid talk about in Rev 9 and rev 18.23c the great merchants of the earth deceived all nation by PHARMAKIEA were all NATIONS deceived.

Voddie says you can’t take a puzzle book approach to revelation, then proceeds to flip the puzzle over and draw his own picture on the back. I don’t know how anyone could listen to this and think it’s accurate. Usually when people have to redefine terms and meanings there is an agenda going on. I could hear hear the agenda after the repeated mention of geopolitical alignment and dispensational zionism. Replacement theology 101
I’ve lived my whole life up till now surrounded by people who can’t get enough of the end times doom and gloom attitude. And I’ve wonder for years why these people are so hungry for this kind of stuff, I don’t think it’s because they are hopefully anticipating the victory of Jesus, it’s something else…it’s almost as if they love fear and love making everyone else afraid.
But is fear really a good tactic for witnessing to non believers? For some maybe… but I think more people are hungry for hope.
I think Voddie goes a little too far… while I agree with everything he said here that comes from scripture, I think he is missing Romans 9 and he needs to address that side of it.
