I am SO, SO fortunate that my boyfriend will not allow us to watch any movie with blasphemy or even swearing! No sex scenes. He’s a real gem.

I get it! I was a big scary movie fan too. I still want to but I refuse to now. The original ‘Poltergeist’ was always my favorite.

St. Augustine of Hippo once said: "Love God and do whatever you please." Our Lord Jesus Christ also said nothing from the outside can make you evil. Evil comes from within – one’s thoughts, actions, desires.

I realized I have become paranoid of watching movies with dark stuff

Well, I really like many of those films. So, if we’re going to see the devil in that, we’re looking in the wrong place. There are worse places where he can live, like the woke, for example. It’s better to be more open-minded and evaluate a work by its quality, rather than its content. I’m sorry, but films for snobby minds tend to bore me.

You forgot the worst series of all, American Horror Story.

Hello! I missed the action but I was thinking you were going to talk about Wednesday and Lucifer series.

I know there does exist media that is truly evil (Griffith’s “The Birth of a Nation” is a good example of such media), but speaking as a nondenominational Christian myself… if your faith is that easily challenged and swayed by the media you consume, that says a lot more about you as a believer than the media itself. I mean… technically, most media we consume is blasphemous.

“The Chronicles of Narnia," for example, says a lot of things that C. S. Lewis personally believed that other Christians vehemently opposed—such as the idea of people of other religious beliefs being accepted into Heaven through their own devout faith. Which by all accounts should make it about as blasphemous as “Hazbin Hotel’s” reinterpretation of theological principles, which itself owes a lot to Milton’s “Paradise Lost," Dante’s “The Divine Comedy," and even C. S. Lewis’ “The Great Divorce."

But if we just blindly avoid all the media deemed ‘deviant’ without a sound mind and critical thinking, we risk missing out on valuable insights and perspectives that could challenge and enrich our own beliefs. It is important to engage controversial works with an open (but still critical) mind and consider the underlying messages they may be trying to convey. Oftentimes, the blasphemy might just be bitter medicine.

For example, despite its controversial revisioning and dark humor, I found "Hazbin Hotel" to be a rather intriguing and thought-provoking exploration of themes of compassion, mercy, and the strive for redemption and personal growth. And how certain sects associated with the faith can sometimes fall short of embodying these values in their actions, being more judgmental and hypocritical than those deemed "sinners" they hunt down to kill. It’s pretty much a parallel to what Jesus faced when he was confronting the corrupt Pharisees in the New Testament.

I’m heartbroken that empire actors do that

Dang I need to warn my mommy about bridgiton

  12. @gml1351 on August 16, 2025 at 12:54 am

I must confess that, as a Christian, I’ve watched snippets, some songs, and even recaps of Hazbin Hotel, as well as the other series, Helluva Boss. This series tries to see Heaven as the bad guys and Hell as the good guys, and that says it all. I realized that both series are pretty horrible and uncomfortable, and I let it show. I realized I made a mistake by watching these series, and I didn’t want to hear about that series again, and I don’t recommend watching it.

I grew up on Charmed, Sabrina, Supernatural…

but after I was baptized, I grew a lot pickier and sensitive to things God advise us to avoid.

I can’t watch a lot of movies mainstream Hollywood churn out.

This video shows me that we should really be careful about what we watch, see, hear, and understand what movies and shows we are dealing with as Christians.

  20. @Oneromas9 on August 16, 2025 at 1:05 am

Hazbin Hotel has to be one of if not the STUPIDEST show idea ever. Who tf would want to watch a demon trying to say that they arent that bad !?!?

  21. @Scotty-Z70 on August 16, 2025 at 1:06 am

people think i’m an old fuddy-duddy because i refuse to watch modern crap. I have plenty of good OLD stuff to watch.
Also, I am so tired of the LGBTP agenda shoving their stuff in our face. You never EVER see Christian characters in books and media, except Ned Flanders, the person they make look stupid, or a bad guy.

Okay, as a Christian myself, I genuinely just disagree with the message of this video. Whilst I understand the desire to avoid content that clearly promotes evil or harmful values, I think labeling all fantasy, horror, or shows with supernatural elements as "sinful" goes too far and promotes fear, not faith.

For example, calling Harry Potter or Stranger Things sinful because they involve magic or the supernatural ignores the fact that these are fictional stories. They don’t promote actual occult practices; they’re modern fairy tales or sci-fi stories. The Bible does not tell us to avoid fiction, it tells us to guard our hearts and minds and pursue what is true, noble and good (Philippians 4:8). You can do that and still enjoy fiction with discernment. What are we, weak?

Jesus himself used parables, stories, not all of which were “safe” or morally clean-cut. And Paul even quoted secular poets and philosophers (Acts 17:28) to connect with people. That shows it’s possible to engage with culture without compromising our faith.
Also, people watching horror or fantasy are not inviting demons into their life or becoming occultists, like what, it’s just so dumb, they don’t do that, normal people see a movie, like a movie and move on with their life. That kind of fear-based thinking reduces spiritual warfare to superstition. Scripture says that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). If your faith is in Christ, a fictional show doesn’t have power over you, you control your life.

Yes, we should be wise (Ephesians 5:15-16), and avoid content that leads us to sin or tempts us personally, but that’s very different from making a blanket rule for all Christians based on fear. There’s a big difference between discernment and fear. We’re called to live in freedom (Galatians 5:1), not paranoia.

I just finished watching the harry potter series, i felt really uncomfortable a ton of the time with a ton of the stuff it mentioned. And always thought throughout it, “is this ok to watch?” So thanks for this video so I can understand now

  26. @kaitlynmontgomery5289 on August 16, 2025 at 1:13 am

A lot of those movies and shows aren’t evil. If you actually watched them and looked into the metaphors of the backstories, you’ll see that a lot of them are actually stories of good versus evil and that good always wins. And isn’t that a popular notion in the Christian Faith? Just because you see some movie or show with magic doesn’t necessarily make it evil.

  27. @florenzguy6109 on August 16, 2025 at 1:13 am

Why has no one made an attempt to make a movie/series based on the WHOLE BIBLE?

  28. @womanalwaysinlove on August 16, 2025 at 1:15 am

What about doing a video of what should we watch instead what we should not…?

  29. @DahneWessels on August 16, 2025 at 1:15 am

Matt 6:22-24: The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy,[a] your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy,[b] your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Be careful people. Be blessed with righteousness.❤

  32. @User2827-s9r on August 16, 2025 at 1:17 am

This left me a bit puzzled, because when the Bible says that magic is a sin, isn’t it talking about real magic? Not the fictional kind used as a setting to create a story that young people would enjoy reading — a story about a boy named Harry, who was born to save others (even those who might not have deserved it) through his own death.

And along the way, he had friends by his side who helped him stand against Lord Voldemort, whose only goal was to bring death and destruction (which really reminds me of how the Bible says the devil came only to steal, kill, and destroy). But because of Harry’s sacrifice — and Neville’s courage in killing the snake (which also feels like a symbolic reference to the devil) — Voldemort is defeated, and the wizarding world is “saved.”

I don’t know… it’s still a little confusing for me. But it doesn’t seem — and I hope this doesn’t sound wrong — that the magic in Harry Potter is the same kind the Bible calls a sin. It feels more like the “superpowers” we see in superheroes from movies and comics, rather than someone calling on a demon (which, by the way, are never mentioned in Harry Potter, nor anything similar) to cast spells.

Anyway… it’s all a bit mixed up in my head. The truth is, before reading Harry Potter, I had drifted away from God and no longer believed in Him. But while reading it, I started having questions that, for some reason, rekindled my Christian faith. Honestly, I think the sad part is that even though Harry Potter is set in a magical world of witchcraft and sorcery, the books are full of characters I became attached to — as if they were friends or family — and moments that bring me comfort, like when Mrs. Weasley treats Harry with such kindness. I just wish J.K. Rowling had chosen a different backdrop instead of wizards… but that’s just me. 🙂

1:44 They all suck and are mostly marketed for young women and deserve a slot on the show Mystery Science Theater 3000.

  37. @brittney8010 on August 16, 2025 at 1:21 am

5:05 and 5:35 the fact that the new Craft went that far is disgusting and with the original, the few brownie points I can give is that I learned that Fairuza and the writers collaborated to make sure all the spells they were saying in the movie were not real at all and didn’t exist because they didn’t want little girls to be saying and repeating them and inadvertently summoning something

  38. @Toy_Yoda11 on August 16, 2025 at 1:21 am

When you said hazbin hotel my face cringed and I grimaced just by the name

  41. @Micah-e5e on August 16, 2025 at 1:24 am

Because, a lot of it is demonic

  42. @Kei_Lynn on August 16, 2025 at 1:24 am

I definitely watched Hazbin hotel as like a 12 year old that was already struggling with my walk with Jesus. Let’s just say this one show and this one Pilot episode turned me completely towards evil. It began a dark path towards witchcraft and struggling. Now I am a proud Christian and REFUSE to watch actual TV because it feels like most things are terrible. I’m glad that there is someone touching on these issues and all of these things put into movies and shows.

  43. @Valecat883 on August 16, 2025 at 1:24 am

They’re just movies! You Christians need to stop overthinking stuff. You’re the reason The Beatles got in danger when John Lennon said that they were more popular than Jesus. I personally was Catholic, but now I don’t like Christiana because of you. I’ve decided to give up my catholic es because of you.

  44. @doodlebabel on August 16, 2025 at 1:26 am

I honestly think that all media comtent is wicked PERIOD. The tinsels were created in collaboration with principalities, of course beginning in the angels city. Endless vainty, covetness, making it casuel to depict our form, God’s image being destroyed in endless combatence over and over until we become fiends for it, helplessly addicted. Like "evolved" being wastes away watching vicarious visions of kind destroying themselves, nothing abnormal or evident here. God forgive us, even if its super noahs ark or some Christian program, trying to render and mimic God’s contruct/creation is hubris, as if we alone could provide this construct with our presence and hosting as he does. And if as the relatively if its base was always an obivous similacrum, why do think it is innate there be stimuli and reaction innately, its like we’re this funky fish tank on the counter in heaven right now and the only reason is hasent thrown it out is on our behalf, and its really stinking up the place a bit perhaps. God constantly having to watch his critter be seduced and led and viciously harm each other stuffs wild… any mybad im tipsy ter hee.
